Lemons are a perfect fit for many recipes and people use them in various ways since they are among the healthiest foods in the world. One of the ways in which you can rip the lion share of their health benefits is to freeze them.
The peel, usually cast away, in fact, regulates cholesterol, treats bacterial infections, prevents cancer and destroys parasites.
Generally, lemons are good for many health issues: inflammations, asthma, immune system, detoxification of the liver and the kidneys, regulation of blood pressure, and depression.
Despite the high levels of vitamin C contained in lemon juice, the peel actually contains much more of it.
Lemon also destroys cancer cells in cases of lung, breast and colon cancer, but doesn’t touch the healthy cells, unlike chemotherapy.
A nutritionist Dr. Marilyn Glenville, a nutritionist, recommends lemon smoothies rather than juice since they include the peels.
